Maintenance Planner
Port Hawkesbury Paper is currently seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team. As a Maintenance Planner for our Thermomechanical Pulp (TMP) Department you will be responsible for the planning, scheduling, and prioritizing of maintenance activities for the TMP section of our manufacturing facility. Reporting to the TMP Manager, you will work closely with the Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, and Purchasing teams. It involves networking with suppliers and consultants on a routine basis. Relief supervision for the maintenance team will also be required.
Job Duties:
- Support all safety and training programs and ensure all safety expectations are being maintained
- Receive, review, and prioritize work requests and work orders
- Provide estimates for and plan/prioritize maintenance jobs
- Coordinate and plan maintenance activities for shutdowns, projects, and preventative maintenance
- Process material requests to ensure availability of parts
- Accrue and approve service invoices
- Provide support for maintenance emergencies
- Create preventative maintenance plans to improve equipment reliability
- Work downtime days, holidays, weekends and respond to call-in’s as required
Qualifications/Experience:
The ideal candidate will have a Trade certification or diploma coupled with 5 years’ experience working in a heavy industrial environment. Relevant experience in leading and supervising tradespeople in a fast-paced manufacturing or related industrial environment would be considered an asset.

Industrial Mechanic (Millwright)
Port Hawkesbury Paper is currently seeking an individual to join our Maintenance team. This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for the preventative maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of production equipment and plant systems.
Responsibilities:
- Equipment installation (pumps, motors, gearboxes, paper machine rolls etc.)
- Changing hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders, hoses, pumps etc.
- Replacing and tracking conveyor belts
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing problems
- Using CMMS to find/order parts, provide detailed feedback on work orders
- Willing to work overtime, after-hours call-ins and shift work as needed
Skills/Competency Requirements:
- Ability to work safely as part of a team
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced work setting
- Attention to detail and takes pride in quality workmanship
- Knowledge of alignment of machinery and the use of laser alignment equipment
- Strong problem solving and communication abilities

- Millwright Certificate of Trade – Red Seal

- Willing to work shiftwork, overtime and after-hours call-ins as needed
Experience/Education Requirements:
- Electrical Red Seal (Industrial preferred)
- A minimum of 8 years experience in an industrial manufacturing environment is recommended
- Experience with troubleshooting and maintenance in an industrial setting
- Experience with understanding existing programs and making changes in DCS & PLC
- Ability to read and understand P&IDs, pneumatics, hydraulics and electrical schematics

Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer
As an Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer at PHP, you will be responsible for providing electrical engineering support on major maintenance and capital projects as well as long-range electrical maintenance planning and management. You would coordinate project implementation with operations and maintenance while interfacing with consulting engineers, vendors and contractors, electrical and instrumentation process support. You will also be responsible for technical support for the electrical and instrument maintenance departments in dealing with ongoing issues, and replacing/upgrading equipment. There will be periods of filling in for the E&I supervisor. Working closely with various groups, you will be an out-of-the-box thinker, constantly looking for continuous improvement opportunities while adhering to and promoting safe work practices.
Requirements:
The ideal candidates will have an Electrical Engineering degree (PEng preferred, consideration given to EIT candidates), with three or more years of progressive experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or related industrial environment. Experience with industrial electrical distribution and process control systems while leading and performing in a highly technical and production-oriented workplace.
